  • Privato was so beautiful to drive up to. About 30 mins out of the way from the other wineries with no traffic. The interior was amazing though, worth seeing for sure. It looked like a remade cellar fo...  read more »
  • This is a very scenic spot and the entire experience was great. The service was good with a good description of wines and tasty wine as well. Other local vineyards do not offer the quaint atmosphere.
  • If you are a fan of winery's this is a great visit. The people are friendly, and willing to answer questions. All the varieties of wine we sampled were very good, and we left with a few bottles to add...  read more »
  • In September 2015 we first visited Privato, loved the place, the people and the wine! We enjoyed the wine so much, that we had to go back (June 2016) and see a little more about Privato. We got to taste and buy some more of their wine! The welcome was warm and the tastings informative, we left with a few more bottles – we don’t live in Canada, but there is at least one place that will be on our itinerary for our next visit. There was one small peripheral detail which is so indicative of quality – which if you just taste the wine or admire the views from the winery, may pass you by, Privato use a very heavy grade glass bottle for their Pinot Noir – just like the better quality Burgundy wines in France. It’s a small detail, but the fact that the Privato team take that much trouble over the bottle for their wine, tells you all you need to know about how much care and attention that has gone into the wine inside – cheers!
  • We were here on a winery tour in April 2016. Very nice place and very nice people. We got an informative tour of winemaking starting from the vines and how the grapes are grown and how to time the harvest, continued through the fermenting process to maturing the wine in oak barrels. It was really an experience to walk between the rows of wine barrels and then into the tasting room to taste the final result. Splendid wines. We liked them so much we had a couple crates shipped back home. They arrived well and good despite traveling halfway across the world. Our personal favorites so far are the Oaked Chardonnay and the Tesoro Pinot Noir.
  • If you enjoy top quality wines, especially chardonnay and pinot noir then this is a place you do not want to miss. This small, family run operation is situated in a garden-like setting on the North Thompson River just north of the downtown core of Kamloops. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. I left with a case of wine including several bottles of their amazing chardonnay and pinot noir.
  • Edit- Thank you for your quick response! I understand you're a small winery and that when events are going on it can be difficult to give everyone the deserved attention. Maybe it would have been best to, right off the bat, ask us to come back a different day or explain that you might not be able to give us the best experience on that day. Then we would have been more understanding from the start. The second lady helping us was really sweet and was not rude like the first one, I should have mentioned that in my review initially. It would be nice to come back and take a tour another time as the winery looked beautiful! The fact that you took the time to reach out to all of us means a lot so I would definitely give this winery another chance. I have deleted my original post as I would love to try out this winery again. Your effort to better our experience for next time has not gone unnoticed and I really appreciate that you took the time to reach out.
  • I visited your tasting room on Monday with a group of tourists from Quebec and their daughter and family who live in Kamloops. I took photos of the group and while I did not taste the wine, I observed how great the service was. The young lady taking care of the group was very personnable and knowledgeable. She was very patient as one person was translating from English to French and with me taking pictures. I am planning to come back soon with my husband and also with a friend for her birthday. I hope you are still serving some lunch. I just could not find the info online. Was it chesses, crackers, fruit? Thank you! PS : With all the technology at our finger tips, I have a hard time believing that people would give your establishment a low rating because they showed up during a big event day at Privato's and expected to be looked after right away. You are on Facebook and have your own website indicating any special events. It takes a few seconds or a phone call to find out if anything special is going on. Bravo for your good sense and delicate diplomacy in answering them. That is what I label as great customer service.
