Its crowded with tourist but still worth a visit. Amazing waterfalls and rock formation. No entrance fee and you can enjoy the short walk. The view is awesome. Highly recommended to visit this place.
Sunwapta Falls are very beautiful and impressive waterfalls in Jasper/Banff National Park closer to Jasper. The water comes roaring down the falls to pass raging at the bottom of a narrow rocky path going under pedestrians bridge going further in its high walled rocky way. Very beautiful. Must stop to see it if driving along the Ice-fields Parkway.
Sunwapta Falls are one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the entire region. There are numerous trails that offer stunning views. You should take at least one hour to explore everything.
This is a very photographed waterfall, in fact if you google Jasper you are sure to come across this waterfall! Sunwapta, meaning turbulent water sure does show you it’s power! The parking lot is pretty big and the walkways to the falls give you many different angles to enjoy this creation of nature!
This is one of the more popular sites close to Jasper which is easily accessible from the parking lot. Because of this, in peak hours, the volume of people is high. When that happens, hike down the trail to the lower falls. Or avoid the rush and go there on the down days to fully appreciate its beauty.
