  • Love exploring this place. Lots of history and information. Cool forts and cannons....head down to the water after
  • Great place for a walk/jog. There is quite a bit of trail from the fort leading all the way down to the water along with some really nice views. Unfortunately all of the old bunkers leading down the water way have graffiti plastered all over them but the trails are well maintained. Came across many locals who were walking their dogs here as well.
  • A great place to see our military history. Lots of parking and free to get in.
  • If you want to see just how defensible Halifax is by sea give York Redoubt a visit. Standing atop that crest, overlooking McNab's Island and the mouth of the Harbour, it's easy to see why military minds of the past decided to arm the ridge. Plus, it's a fun place to walk your dog, toss a frisbee, or go for a short walk. Sometimes you can explore old underground storage rooms...if you are brave enough to enter. Pretty spooky...
  • Great views at a nice historical site. Take a trip down to the waterfront if you're there.
