  • Nice facility, but be sure to bring cash for parking. It ranges from $4 outdoors to $7 indoors at SCOTIA Square. It would be best to arrive an hour early for any major event to get parked and seated. Decent choice of food and beverages. They take credit and debit. Food & Beverages are expensive, but not out of line with what you should expect at a major sporting facility.
  • The Scotia Centre is a great place for sporting events and concerts. It holds between 10,000 to 14,000 people. Newer seats are fairly comfortable and there is a rail to hang on to 3/4 of the way down the lower bowl.
  • Nice place to take in a game. Concessions are decent, there are also plenty of nice places to eat nearby. Seats are comfortable, and entrance area looks great since the renovation.
  • Great venue. For newcomers it's good to know that parking is free on the streets of Halifax after 6, on the holidays and on weekends. Parking at Scotia square isn't cheap, so plan your route. If you're going to a concert your best bet is floor tickets for the most fun! Be civilised and follow common sense, the security won't give you a hard time.
  • The seating is ridiculous. I'm 6'2" and I practically had to do the splits to sit in my seat because there is no leg room at all. My wife is 5'7" and she was unbearably uncomfortable during the concert we were there to see. Not only is there no leg room but I had to wedge myself in between the arm rests and i'm not very wide in the hips. Even if someone stands up for you you can barely walk down the aisle. If you are really tall I recommend you get a seat at the end of the aisle so you can at least stretch your legs a little. I just got lucky that I could move to one next to me as it was empty, otherwise I don't know what I would have done if someone had to sit next to me in the middle. Just another example of corporate greed. The box seats had tons of room I noticed while the commoners get packed in like cattle just like they do on airplanes.
