  • A beauty place for a walk in the spring and summer. If you're into trees and flowers there's a big variety and lots of them are labelled throughout the park. Mostly gravel pathways but they're fine with a stroller, not sure about wheelchairs. Many places to stop and sit and it's generally a pretty quiet place.
  • Amazing spot of green in the middle of the city. Not too big but amazing for a lunch stroll or a garden date. There's even a designated space for a picnic. In the summers there are sometimes live music. In the fall, the Public Gardens usually plays host a couple acts/exhibits as part of the Nocturne festival and that's always a joy.
  • Unique experience again. Live band music with excellent piano, guitar, and singer. Met some old friends and saw live dancing. Most beautiful flowers from all over the world...What a delightful experience. Excellent location in the center of Halifax and metered parking all around. Free !!!
  • There's something about the Halifax Public Gardens that makes me happy. I don't know if it's the music they have in the summer, the kids playing on the lawn, the people holding hands as they walk, or the people taking pictures here / there / everywhere. The trees are lovely, there's always something blooming and if you time it right you can get a guided tour. The washrooms are accessible and family friendly.
  • A true Victorian Garden, the Halifax Public Gardens is a thing of beauty. From the ponds with the geese, ducks and model shops including the Titanic, to the giant rhodendron, rose and many other flower gardens, this is a place you will want to bring your camera. You never know - you might just catch a wedding party or.two taking pictures they cherish for ages. Or you might catch a lively band making music from the ornate bandstand. Enjoy an ice cream cone while you soak in the splendour of your surroundings. Don't even think about it. If you are anywhere near Spring Garden Road.... Just go!
