Beautiful view as we ran to the top and looked out over the city. It wasn’t open for tours this time of year but still a nice visit. more »

Absolutely amazing! An abundance of amazing displays for WW1 and quality displays for other times as well. Really enjoyed visiting and exploring. The cafe had delicious food, the gift shop was very nice, and the history minded staff was knowledgeable and wonderful. The noon Canon fire was awesome and the bag pipes were played most of our visit! Fantastic experience.

This must be an interesting place for Canadian because of the historic background. There is so much to see and learn about Canadian history. The people running this place also put up many activities like shooting the musket to relive the history. The place is big and not much shelter so be wary of the sun during the summer. There is limited parking in the Citadel so be prepared to do some climbing if you park further away and allocate at least an hour or more to enjoy this place. The museum is a good place to avoid the hot sun.

More than meets the eye. The museum at the Center of the citadel has enough content to spend a couple hours in itself. Great views of the city and an opportunity to experience British and Canadian culture and history. Not much parking at the citadel itself, so it could be best to park your car in the city and make a visit to the Citadel part of a larger tour of Halifax. Enjoy!

We have a gem in the historic world with the Halifax Citadel. We we there with our son an granddaughters for the Victorian Christmas. Lots of things to do and see, crafts, music, period dress and more. I especially liked the set up of how they prepared meals. Well attended and even found a parking spot close by. Highly recommended.

Citadel is gorgeous in the summer ! The view from here is really cool because it’s the highest point in Halifax and though it’s not super high it does give you a great view from the middle of the city and then you can check out the fort within which is such a neat experience. Definitely check it out
