Located on the bank of the Speed River is the site of the third St. George’s Church. The original St. George’s Church Guelph, a wooden structure was located at Guelph city Centre, St. George’s Square, on land set aside for a church by Sir John Galt. It was the second church built in Guelph after Norfolk Street United Church. The original wood structure was completed in 1834 and renovated to stone and added onto in the 1850’s. This Stone Church at St. George’s Square served as the church for the next 20 years. The Church at the present site was completed in 1873.

  • I have attended many concerts at St. George's, the most recent being their Tuesday afternoon chamber series. The acoustics are wonderful. Thanks to St. George's for providing a community space. 
  • Beautiful old anglican church with lovely architecture in the centre of Guelph, nice to visit all are welcomed. 
  • Beautiful old church . I walk around it every day on my daily walk. View the river from the church grounds. Peaceful relaxing place to pass some time
