Muskoka Steamships, Gravenhurst

4.4
Take a tour of Lake Muskoka in style when you book a cruise with Muskoka Steamships. The company has two old-fashioned steam ships in service, the RMS Segwun and Wenonah II. You can choose a cruise to fit your preference, as they offer cruises based on time, including one-, two-, and two-and-a-half-hour cruises. Or, consider a special cruise, which includes a sunset dinner cruise or a cruise that takes you past the homes of the area's wealthy citizens. You can have dinner on the deck while touring the lake with staff that share valuable tidbits of information. If boats are your forte, visit the free Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre nearby. • The 1887 post ship RMS Segwun is located in the Muskoka Bay. It is one of the oldest steam ships in North America which is still in operation. Then there is the replica is the Menonah II. Important: you should make a reservation. Various trips are offered.

  • The boat tours here are amazing. The sometimes have the Zoo to You and other activities on board. On Canada Day they do a lovely dinner, (great food) sunset are beautiful and the fireworks are perfect at Walkers Point. The guides are very good and informative of the area and history. What a great way to see Muskoka Lake
  • Went on the High Tea cruise on Sunday, August 12. The cruise was excellent but the Very Expensive High Tea was disappointing. The sandwich bread was dry and the sandwiches were below average. We had to ask for plates as none was provided. Please give us just a little more butter and jam. (Maybe we were given a single serving.) Suggestion: serve the butter and jam in something a little more classy than paper "hospital pill containers" . It is High Tea after all.
  • For a short "familiarization" cruise to a full six hours a, Muskoka Steamships offers them. Romantic sunset dinner cruises, as well as casual luncheon cruises are aloha offered. However, if the excellent food they serve is not desired, one can do the cruise only. Some cruises pass along "Millionaires' Row" where some of the country's most expensive "cottages" are located. Every nautical mile covered has amazingly beautiful scenery too view. The staff and crew aboard are very easygoing and happy to discuss the ship and its history. RMS Segwin has the greatest history and is STILL coal fired and steam driven. Talk to the Stoker and/or the Chief (Engineering) Officer. They really enjoy sharing their day. It helps them pass the time and gives one a better understanding of what goes into the care, maintenance and operations of a century old steamship. This is a great way to spend part of your day, for a very reasonable price!
  • Took the dinner cruise on the Segwin. Food was great and the steamship was awesome. Glad we went to the Discovery Museum before to see the history. I grew up going to a cottage on lake Rousseau and this cruise was perfect tour through Lake Muskoka
  • A great picturesque cottage country experience. Friendly staff. Amenities and bar on board. 1-2-3&4 hour cruises. All with different routes. Wenonah is the more modern ship. Segwun is a floating working time capsule. A experience like no other.
