  • 4 caves you can explore. Bring good flashlights as a household one is not great. One of the caves if you want to explore it you have to crawl through it .All the cave are damp and wet . Good signs out...  more »

  • Lots of fun for a family with young children. Be prepared bring lights, warm clothing and gloves. Also be ready to get dirty if you really want to explore the caves. I wouldn't recommend making it a destination for a trip but an add on to something in Gold River you had planned. We went for the caves but ended up playing in the waterfall the most.
  • There ISN'T a parking lot. There is a sign and space there for maybe 3 cars. The beginning of the trail is a few steps up the road TO THE RIGHT. Not the left, TO THE RIGHT. If you drove/walked to the sign that says TOILETS you have gone too far. Bring a headlamp, the 300 lumens or more kind of headlamp. Bring a jacket because the temperature in the caves, regardless of how hot it's outside, can be about 10 degrees more or less. (in Celsius) If you are claustrophobic then just go to the main cave, it's big enough for you to sort of step in and take a picture.
  • Great caves to explore. It was my first time in caves and it was great! The hike is really short to the caves and they are all close together. For sure bring a light with you and a sweater and reliable footwear. It was slippery and cold.
  • Dark deep dank caves.
  • While these caves were a lot of fun to explore I wouldn't recommend going out of your way and driving hours on end to see them. If you live in Campbell River or Gold River definitely check them out but there are bigger and more interesting cave systems elsewhere on Vancouver Island.
