  • While these caves were a lot of fun to explore I wouldn't recommend going out of your way and driving hours on end to see them. If you live in Campbell River or Gold River definitely check them out but there are bigger and more interesting cave systems elsewhere on Vancouver Island.
  • We had a great time crawling around and exploring the caves. Not much room for parking tho! Short walk down the trails to the caves, be prepared to do some crawling and getting dirty. Wear good hiking boots, gloves as its wet and chilly in there. Head lamp is a must along with a helmet is a good idea. Took us about 2 hrs to explore them all. Some nice falls at the end of the Maine cave. Leave packs at the vehicle they just get in the way.
  • During the winter, the trails are hard to find, and the cards are not clear. However, it is a beautiful experience, explore a cave without help!
