  • A really great Museum. All very nicely structured and clearly designed. The totem poles alone are worth the admission money. Really very impressive :-) With the son's was then still in the inside, children Museum. There is much to discover in the lovingly designed sections... Top :-)

  • It really reflects the history of civilizations that make up the Canadian ethnic group with much realism. Worth seeing!

  • Bit underwhelming and had expensive parking. I purchased the museum pass, and this was my 3rd and last option on the card. Out of 3 levels, only 2 were open. The exhibits were 90% about native/aboriginal Canada. They had a special exhibit about Napoleon but that was it. On the other hand, the native/aboriginal exhibits and artifacts were well made had they had an extensive collection. I guess I expected more because I also visited the Air and Space Museum, and the War Museum. Staff was very friendly, and the gift shop was well stocked. The layout was slightly confusing due to the lack of guide arrows/signs. Parking was $12 for about 2 hours... it was pretty steep. Should rename to "Museum of Canadian Aboriginal History".
  • Where: Canadian Museum of History What: A museum with rich history How was it: The last time we came here was to spend some time with our godchild. There was a special activity for children. It was about travelling to different places in the world and you could get your passport stamped. They had individual kiosks for each country. Well done and entertaining. The museum is even nice to walk around with the view of the river. The architecture is quite unique. Grade: Eli = 5, Serge = 4+ Recommend: Yes
  • This place got lot of good information about history of Canada. But have sufficient time in hand, about 3-4 hours to completely explore the place. If you are in hurry then only get an overview in about one hour minimum time. Overall nice place and recommended, especially for those who love to go back and enjoy flashback in old times,I mean history.
  • Beautiful museum. Architecture is wonderful. So much to see and do here. We had 4 hours and could have done with twice that. There are a huge amount of artifacts on display, might be a bit overwhelming if you don't have a huge amount of time. There are sculptures outside which are pretty cool, the zen garden is well worth a look too. The restaurant/cafe is really reasonably priced and there's some vegan/vegetarian options as well as a really good salad bar. Entrance includes the children's museum and the special exhibitions. Gift shop is definitely worth visiting.
  • Well laid out. Beautiful museum. However, coming from Winnipeg, I appreciate our museum more. Yes it's nice to have a history museuem, but I expected a lot more about all of Canadian history being in the nation's capital. Other than the feature exhibits, I can't see myself returning again. Feel I get the same experience back in Winnipeg museum.
