  • And the title sums it up really. A fantastic building, a great space and there really is is a great deal of space, but the contents - not so great. I don't know how long it's been open, but you can't ...  read more »
  • We visited the Museum with a guide. The Museum is good but more difficult to visit in a group because lack of time for all to see.

  • Did the 3D cinema experience (45 minutes) which was great and that really turned out to be one of the highlights of this visit. It's true that the other expositions were interesting (Napoleon, Gold Ru...  read more »
  • One of the best Museums in the country. Big, and clean with impressive architecture. Has many informative and comprehensive exhibits. The children's museum is also a great place to take your kids. They can run around for a whole day there. Also has a great view of the Ottawa Parliament Hill.
  • Took advantage of the free entrance every Thursday from 4 to 8pm. This is a large history museum housed in a modern building with striking architecture and providing great views of Parliament Hill and downtown Ottawa. Learned a great deal about the history and culture of the First Nations and the special exhibit on Napoleon. Huge and well-stocked gift shop. Walkable from downtown Ottawa by way of Alexandra Bridge or Portage Bridge.
  • Well laid out. Beautiful museum. However, coming from Winnipeg, I appreciate our museum more. Yes it's nice to have a history museuem, but I expected a lot more about all of Canadian history being in the nation's capital. Other than the feature exhibits, I can't see myself returning again. Feel I get the same experience back in Winnipeg museum.
  • I was very disappointed with our visit today. It doesn't look like it's been updated in 25 years. They had a massive area dedicated to aboriginal history and nothing/little addressing residential schools, recent native athletes, artists or political leaders. The displays didn't explain the context of the artifacts. We left feeling like were didn't learn much. Sigh... Thankfully it wasn't very expensive
  • The views of this museum are breathtaking. The architecture of this museum has quite some history in itself, I highly recommend reading into it! Have a wonderful time exploring the galleries, watching a movie, enjoying the views, or having a meal!
