Gabriola Sands Provincial Park Reviews
-
The locals call this park "Twin Beaches" because there is a beach on either side of the road on this peninsula at the north end of Gabriola Island. A short 5 min drive from the ferry terminal. more »

Two great beaches, one good for the morning, the other for the afternoon. Lovely and sandy on one of them, great views on the other one. more »

Easy to find and some areas for free parking. If you have young kids, they can play in pure white sand, or you can go to the other beach and explore the sand stone rocks. Either side is easy walking b... more »

Certainly a nice region of the island, although somewhat deceptively small. There are gorgeous, large trees in the area, one of which is surrounded by park benches. Makes for a pretty good rest stop. Try to go during low tide if you're looking to take a dip. Watch for goose poop in the field as there's no shortage of it.

Neat little beach my wife used to play here as a child. She took me here to revisit memories.

park is nice but limited parking. dog are supposed to be on leash, but of course owners don’t follow this. picnic tables, outhouses and sand. would be a nice place in the summer, too bad it’s november

Our go-to family picnic spot. Tables on either side, but we prefer the ones on the east/south side, where the bay is narrower and it's easy to keep track of small children. Wide tidal flats are awesome for beachcombing and playing. We do bring the dogs, but keep them tied up carefully. (Bring baggies - there is no dispenser here.) We bring our mini tabletop propane BBQ as well, which is allowed. Good cell reception here also means that I can work from here on warm days. The bobs floating out in the bay mark crab traps. If you want to do any crabbing, you will need a small boat, but I understand it's quite good here. The lawn on the west side has a large cottonwood with a rope swing. Plenty of sun and perfect spot to launch a kayak, paddle board or even small boat, if you can carry it in.

Beautiful sandy beaches and ample parking but lack of garbage cans means you need yo pack out what you pack in and as a random lunch spot, a little interesting.
