Kikomun Creek Provincial Park is a provincial park in British Columbia, Canada.Kikomun Creek Provincial Park has a campground with five lakes, an abundance of the endangered painted turtles, many mountain bike trails throughout, two beautiful sandy beaches among its attractions.GeographyKikomun Creek is situated in the southern region of the Rocky Mountain Trench, on the eastern shores of a man-made reservoir along the Kootenay River. This 685-hectare park provides recreational access to Lake Koocanusa, whose name is supposedly a combination of Kootenay, Canada and United States. The park encompasses large open grasslands, ponderosa pine forests and many small lakes. The grasslands in the area were used historically as grazing areas for the horses of the Ktunaxa people and the cattle of early settlers. Throughout the park, evidence of glacial activity thousands of years ago is evident in the form of ridges, valleys and water-filled depressions.Kikomun Creek Provincial Park is located 20 miles (32 km) southwest of Fernie and 41 miles (65 km) southeast of Cranbrook in the Canadian Rockies region of British Columbia.

  • It would have been awesome. Kookanusa was right there but really not fun without a fishing boat, canoe or powerboat. Surveyors was nice but renting paddle board by the hour was expensive. The power si...  more »
  • Stayed in the first come first serve area and got a nice site. Not much privacy between sites but we were out fishing all day anyways. Lots of places to fish for bass and trout.  more »
  • Our stay was just ok. Found it pricey for what is offered, especially with the second vehicle fee. Surveyors lake was neat. Outhouse bathrooms were not lit and faced into the trees - hard to find and ...  more »

  • Great campground with lots to do. Excellent family camping experience. Though, the bathrooms and showers could have been maintained better, and the loose gravel that was put down on some of the bike trails is a nightmare.
  • Services sites are in the grass. In the summer, it is very hot. No playground unless to drive to another campground. Lake at the campground has swimmer's itch signs. It is a better location if you are there for boating and only use serviced sites to sleep at night. It is too hot to hang out during the day. There are treed sites along the lake edge, but they aren't serviced.
  • Lots of tree -clearing has happened in this park lately so tree cover is very sparse. Camp sites are very basic and sunny because of the lack of trees. Very popular with kids and families! If you're looking for friends for your kids to play with they'll find a ton of them here.
  • Beautiful place to camp or just spend the day fishing and swimming.
  • Absolutely fantastic. Clear warm water. Full of bass and turtles. Don't miss the amphitheater
