First timers should go just for the experience this mall has it all! Could easily spend a couple days in there if you wanted to do everything. Outside of what I would call the main attractions is just a large mall. Some brand stores have more than one location so you don't have to worry too much about parking. Best mall in Edmonton area for sure as long as you don't mind large crowds. There's a little something for everyone if you know where to look.
The West Edmonton Mall experience was one of the best Mall experiences that I have had, this Mall being one of the biggest and most beautiful malls in North America was a delight to see. The very high point in the liking of this Mall for me and anyone else would be the amount of EXTRA entertainment options available like (in the order of likeness) a huge indoor wave pool and Beach style sitting area ; all indoors given the Harsh 7 month winter weather of Edmonton Alberta. Immense variety of shopping options with top Brand name shop outlets with friendly staff seemed like the signature representation of a high class consumer society with immense options. Free world is a blessing. The Live scale and the very realistic looking pirate ship was another astonishing feature which surpasses all other malls in the region. This ship was very well kept and there was even a restaurant on board the ship which represented the medieval pirate era very well. The indoor amusement park and roller coaster rides ; laser tags etc. were so well maintained and planned in a small area not taking anything away from the joy of the rides and amenities. Overall a solid amazing Mall experience. Did shop for my host who is my very lovely uncle.
Went on a Saturday afternoon, the mall was packed. It was a little hard to find any parking, best to go earlier in the mornings I find. Visited the Aquarium, the pricing for a family of four was really good, around $10/person, which also included the Sea lion show. The Aquarium is a little smaller area but very cool to watch the sharks and sea turtle, the kids had a blast. They also have little penguins there as well. All in all it was a great family outing and lots of fun.
Good mall but definitely need more escalators inbetween the ones at each end of the mall going up to the second floor. I had to walk all the way back to the end I came from due to the elevator not in service. I enjoyed the names for certain places such as Bourbon Street. To the stores I went to the staff were friendly n helpful. Perhaps I walked escalators in the middle of the mall. Most people I asked didn't know either where to find the escalators going to the first/second besides being at either end of the mall. All in all, a great mall!!! Fun and lovely attraction
The biggest mall in the America's and it doesn't disappoint. I walked around for about 2 hours 20 minutes covering 2.50 miles/4km. Plenty to see and do here with a wide variety of stores. Lots of beautiful art and set pieces throughout the mall. If you are a foodie, you'll be in heaven. Food options galore, I can easily gain 20lbs in a week here with no restraint. Despite this mall being filled with thousands of people at any given time, it never felt crowded to me, just busy. Parking was surprisingly easy and stress free.
