  • Excellent atmosphere and selection. I just went to explore, people watch and eat the food. Excellent restaurant at the back. Ate up on the balcony and enjoyed the best omelet!  more »

  • I don't think it's possible to dislike the old Strathcona farmers market. It's comfortable, it's cozy. There's a huge variety of vendors. You can come here and get your whole weeks worth of groceries, some treats, and maybe a new blanket. The buskers are always great quality, and the vendors are always incredibly helpful and polite. I love going any time of year, but my favourite is in the summer when they open up the doors and you've got the kettle cooked popcorn smell wafting over everything. It smells like childhood and community, and always makes me happy.
  • Strathcona Farmer's Market is a curious place on a Saturday. There is an odd mix of those that have come to buy with a particular thing in mind, and others that are just there to experience the carnival atmosphere. The layout is so delightfully unplanned that it is amazing that one can get around at all, and I find I have to use my best navigating skills just to avoid a collision in the aisles. Inevitably, I see someone I know, and exchange a few words on any subject that comes to mind. Oddly, in these times this has become a unique experience-the type we often travel thousands of miles to have. Yay for the open market!
  • Always a great stop for all the locally made treats you could want. It's amazing to see it so busy and borderline crazy year after year. Our main reason for the stop today was Irving Farms extremely tasty bacon chops. There were many other things all fresh and wonderful and we came out loaded down, but go for the bacon chops.
  • A nice farmers market. A large variety of vendors are present so a good selection of products are available. The bulk of vendors sell food, usually produce or meat from farms, preserves, and some prepared foods and baked goods. Pottery, quilts and other handmade goods are available. Prices are reasonable for the quality of goods and goes straight to the producers.
  • Tons of selection and there is free parking across the street if you need to drive here. I love coming here in the summer and enjoying the performers and music. Prices are always reasonable for handmade goods and fresh food. Would definitely recommend the wines here.
