  • This seemed like a great place for families with kids. Playground, beach, paved and earth trails for bikes and walking, basketball nets, and general store to visit. Lake was a bit shallow for boating....  more »

  • Beautiful Campground...too bad it smelled so awful. At first we thought the smell was coming from the dump stations...but we went for a walk and discovered that it was coming from the lake... The lake was deemed unsafe to swim...we walked to the "beach" and had to walk over turds and toilet paper...the lake was very low, which made me think the sewage in the lake might normally be hidden when the water levels were higher... Again, too bad, because the campsites are beautiful.
  • The campsites are very well treed and private. The workers are pretty fast coming down to your site if you need them! And it's nice and clean!
  • Nice campground. Good trails but skip the beach. Not a nice swimming lake.
  • Lovely campground, the park centre is a nice touch that other campgrounds don't have. Quiet and not a lot of bugs around. Fairly private campsites.
  • Great camping so close! Sites are nice. Camp was quiet and well-patrolled for May long weekend. Lots of playgrounds, bike paths. Clean bathrooms (everywhere) and showers. No, you can't swim in the lake but views and waterfowl are very nice... Maybe I lucked-out but seems underrated based on my experience.

Where to stay in Edmonton

For access to the best entertainment options and proximity to the North Saskatchewan River and the parks surrounding it, you can't beat Downtown's accommodations. Look near the intersection of Jasper Avenue and 100 Street NW--you'll be right next to Central metro station and just a few minutes' walk from the riverside park. If you're after nightlife and cafe culture, look south of the river in Strathcona, or in the neighboring student hub of Garneau. You can also choose from a large selection of accommodations farther out in West Edmonton.
