One weird activity you can try here is something called "Purple City". What you do is go to the big lights, stare at them for a minute then look around. Disclaimer I'm sure its not healthy for you. I'... more »

This is a great place to go to see Christmas lights. The grounds are very well decorated with a variety of scenery. There’s also a skating rink on the lower grounds to enjoy a family skate. more »

They started building the Alberta Legislature building in 1907 at the site of Old Fort Edmonton, so it has always been at the heart of Edmonton. The architecture draws inspiration from a number of influences, which I think it gives it a classic look that is not easily dated. Much of the building material is Canadian. There are frequent free tours of the building that are worth taking. The grounds are large and beautiful. The building and grounds are especially worth visiting on holidays. On Canada Day it is very crowded with many children playing in the fountains, and during the winter there is a large Christmas tree and lots of lights.

The building is really majestic from both the inside and the outside. The building displays lots of interesting facts about its history. I’m not sure, but I think you can swim in the fountains when the Summer arrives. If you’re looking to be educated of Albertan history, and/or want to just have fun exploring the building and it’s surrounding area, then you should definitely go there.

The Alberta Legislature Grounds are situated within a natural & serene environment. The impressive natural canopy provided by the trees aids environmental conservation while also making both morning & evening walks though the grounds very relaxing & pleasurable. The building is very historical and magnificent. Gives you that European feeling 😊

This is such a beautiful building. All of the staff working in this busy place were amazingly friendly. I would like to note the cafeteria had the best chicken burger and carrot soup! I enjoyed the free tour and unique stories of history for this place. I hope to visit again in the future!

Well, it is one of the best places I visited all around Edmonton. I've been there for Field Trips and Special Holidays. Plus, it seems nice at front of the Legislature if the sky's dark, just when we see Fireworks all around with My Family, Family-Friends and My Best Friend with Me at Canada's 150th Birthday (July 1, 2017)
