  • We have made a stop in the early afternoon of September 2, 2017 and this spectacle of nature was a crush that surpassed many expectations modest. We never thought that Alberta could offer such great shows of Mother Nature and free and more. There is possibility to browse this amazing area by helicopter but we are not informed of the prices. We have photos to offer in addition to our notice. We strongly recommend taking the time to stop without forgetting your devices of all kinds to take memorable photos. Notice on 17 January 2018 to Salaberry de Valleyfield, Quebec, Canada.

  • The correct name for this canyon is Horseshoe Canyon which draws lots of tourists in the summer. One can walk along the canyon's valley bottom but this is hard to see in the winter. There was a winter...  more »

  • Excellent walk with light train. Many people climb the hoodoos for fun. There is also a helicopter tour available in the summer.
  • Horseshoe Canyon is a spectacular natural area in the Alberta Badlands. The geographical formations with their multicoloured layers are stunning! Until you get right up to the edge of the canyon, you don't even know it's there because it's carved out of the flat prairie. Amazing sight.
  • Great place to see the sudden change from prairies to badlands. Wonderful place to go for a hike and explorer. If you are not into hiking they do have helicopter tours during the spring and summer.
  • Well worth a stop. Hike into canyon was steep with heavy sticky and slippy mud. A few made the descent. But a lot of folks gave up
  • Bring your hiking shoes! Great place to go for a walk, but be prepared. Don't go in flip flops. They have picnic tables and some great spots to check out the view. Also a small fossil shop.
