  • An amazing park with beautiful scenery and some great hiking and backpacking opportunities. The visitor centre staff are super friendly, easily the nicest and most helpful I've encountered at any park, and they serve free labrador tea. The standard backpacking route to Grizzly, Divide, and Talus Lake campgrounds is lovely and not particularly tough. It's worth going all the way to Talus Lake since it all beautiful tundra with amazing jagged, rocky mountain scenery up there.

Worth the drive this far even if you don't plan to go further north. Just don't plan to drive very fast on the Dempster.
  • Beautiful park with awesome landscape and wildlife. We saw silver fox, red fox, grizzly bears (one with cup), moose, eagles, snowhoe...
