  • It was interesting to be in the same spot where the last spike went into the railroad connecting Canada's east to west. Free and nice place to rest and stretch the legs.
  • have driven by here for years and finally decided to take the time to stop. an historical moment in our history, nov. 1875, a symbol of national unity in canada, however, other than info signage there...  more »
  • Probably a must for train fans because here the Transcanadian Railway was finalized in 1885. If you are not really interested in this historic fact it is still a nice spot for a stop and have picnic.

  • I'm not really a fan of Canadian history, but check it out if you want to learn how the Chinese workers did most of the work on the Canadian Pacific Railway, only to have Sir Donald Smith (some old white guy in charge of the CPR) getting the credit of driving the last spike. Oh, and the souvenir shop's got some fair share of goodies, but don't expect to find anything so precious that you wanna buy it.
  • Needs better signage for the stop but was a great experience to see. Ladies who ran the gift shop were wonderful, knowledgeable and gave great suggestions of what else to explore in the train world around the areas. This is must see stop for all train lovers!
  • Not much to see but it's a nice stop. If your lucky long trains will pass as well
  • Very educational rest stop. There is a small gift shop and was a great opportunity to get out and stretch our legs.
  • Great piece of history. Well worth the stop to break up a long drive
