An original cathedral on the site burned down in 1907; the replacement you see today dates from 1913. Added to the list of National Historic Sites of Canada in 1990, it displays a Gothic Revival architectural style and represents one of the most prominent buildings in the city. • The craftsmanship is definitely among the top in Canada.
  • Small compared to other basilicas in Europe but towers over the relatively modest Charlottetown skyline. Nice interior and exterior architecture.
  • It's a very beautiful basilica. You can feel the solemnity of the place.
  • Beautiful inside and outside! Very peaceful inside.
  • A cathedral that you will never forget. It's my fav. place to spnd midnight mass every year and the service is always breathtaking and I leave full of peace and joy to start my Christmas day with. It is full of wonderful Island history and built by our famous Island Architects.
