Inspirock Rating:
4.3/5 based on 340+ reviews on the web
Experience life as it was in the 1920s at Village historique de Val-Jalbert, an outdoor museum and former industrial village. See about 40 original-period abandoned buildings, thanks to the village's pulp mill closing down. Interact with the characters of the town dressed in traditional costume by entering into a typical family home, attending a school class, or talking with the mayor and mill workers. Step out onto the glass platform for unmatched views of the Ouiatchouan Falls, a towering waterfall with strong cascades crashing against the rock face. Village historique de Val-Jalbert is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Chambord Edition.

  • The village is very well reconstructed. The factory is very well preserved and the show is very well done. The different point of view on the waterfall are spectacular. A lot of things to learn throughout the visit. In short a beautiful day "e to move to the val jalbert. Beside the Lake St. John fair is also spectacular.

  • Very nice backup of the site, the restorations of the houses are very well made, especially when you see the condition of the houses not yet restored! The part of the site with the funicular that riding up to the waterfall and the belvedere is beautiful, incredible views. We can make beautiful ballad in the village, at their own pace. Spend less than two hours would be a shame, however, because the site is worth a visit. For those who book early, we can stay on site! that unfortunately, we could not do...

  • An important piece of Quebec history. We had a lovely time. You have to spend a whole day there to make the price of admission worth it. Be prepared for lots of walking.
