It was my birthday weekend, so I choose to go on Saturday, so we can see fireworks. We went late afternoon, had a lunch and after enjoyed the garden, which was really beautiful. It was life band was playing Beatles songs, so we can hear it from everywhere in a garden it was really nice. At 9:45 fireworks started, you just need little blanket, snacks and enjoy. It is plenty of place to sit and you can't see fireworks from everywhere. It was amazing experience highly recommended.
A really beautiful place! Everywhere you look is a gorgeous photo, so remember to take a good camera with lots of space in the memory. It's a little pricey, but the ticket is totally worth. Sometimes it can be a little crowded, but just be patient and you can enjoy the scenic views.
The Butchart Gardens are incredibly busy. It'll be a good idea to plan your trip accordingly and arrive early to beat the rush. This place has a vast array of flowers. Each season offers different flowers blooming. There's always something new to see with each season, so it's always a good venue to visit. They even give you a guide to flowers so you can search up the names of the flowers you look at. I spent most of my trips looking for certain flowers and in the end I finally succeeded. There's a flower identification center near the entrance of the garden to help you identity any flowers you took photos of. The staff there is very nice and always happy to help. They took the time to tell me that the berries I took of was Honeysuckle berries. Sure, it took them a while to figure it out, but they made sure they were happy to do it. There's a lot of different flower exhibits in this garden that it'll definitely take a few hours to get through it all. And if you ever get tired the food there is pretty decent. There is a couple of places to eat at the gardens. There's a cafe, cafeteria, and a nice formal sit down restaurant near the entrance of the gardens. They're pretty easy to spot.
Wonderful place to spend the day. It's a short drive and very inexpensive. The gardens are truly amazing. Make sure you have an ice cream it's gorgeous and I would definitely take the boat trip round the harbour we were the only ones on it and so got a private tour. We saw lots of wildlife and it's just beautiful.
It's incredibly busy but it is worth navigating the crowds. I sat in a corner of the Japanese garden for 30 minutes in peace and solitude with trickling water all around. It's crisp and cool compared to the direct sun of the rose garden, though less impressive and colorful it is still by far my favorite. It's a must see.
