#1 of 12 in Things to do in Carcross
Check out Yukon's premiere wildlife gallery at Caribou Crossing Trading Post, where you can view realistic displays of animals from the past and present. See animals like the Saiga antelope, which lived in the area until 12,000 years ago, or the wooly mammoth. Animals from present day include lynx, wolverines, and a polar bear. In addition to a museum, the attraction also offers activities like dog cart rides, a petting farm, and a highly praised cafe and BBQ lunch. • Excellent taxidermy work. Reproductions of the extinct bison were great as well. We spent 2 hours there looking at everything. I highly recommend it to all. You won't be disappointed . It's more than ...  more »

  • Stopped in here heading back out of the Yukon and really enjoyed the visit. A lot of interesting background on the RCMP and the taxidermy collection was very well documented and displayed. We didn't do the sled dog bit but it looked fun. Getting to play with the Alaskan Husky puppies of course were just awesome. Some people call it a tourist trap but I disagree completely and feel it's disingenuous. The admission price is fair for the couple of hours you will spend there and buying things at a gift shop or having a snack at the bakery is pretty much how 99% of tourist places work!
  • Awesome experience! Great for kids, got to cuddle husky puppies. Dog sled ride was really fun, and the food was pretty good.
  • We took a tour through Southeast Tour company and we stopped here for good food, to see the husky's and to get a dog sled ride. Everyone was so pleasant and we had such a great time. They also had a really neat animal museum.
  • An enjoyable bbq lunch, staff and petting zoo. The dogs were fun on the ride and there were puppies!
  • Great amenities. Wonderful atmosphere and friendly people. Food is okay, nothing uniquely Canadian. No wifi that's apparent.
