  • We always enjoy our time here. Will be back maybe in July. Always find interesting. A must at Halloween. Always fun scaring tie kids.  more »
  • This is situated in the Greater Sudbury community of Capreol. About a 35 minute drive from downtown Sudbury. If you've ever worked for the railroad, and your into the history of the railroad industry,...  more »
  • I definitely reccommend visiting the Railroad Museum on October nights for their annual Terror Train! They turn the museum and train cars into a terrifyingly fun haunted house. It's so scary, but so m...  more »

  • This place is amazing! The history, the dedication of the people, Eileen Thompson gave my husband and myself a tour and it was fantastic, she has so much history in the town and she clearly loves what she does. Beautiful place and so much history of how this country began and the way people lived and innovated and the trials they went through. I can't wait to take my step children I just know they will love it! Thank you so much Eileen Thompson for the heart felt tour and the connection to such an important historical time period. The Coopers from Cornwall.
  • Growing up in Capreol, not once did I pay much attention to the old antique trains in 'downtown' Capreol. Sure--I saw them--but I was never curious, nor did I inspect them in detail. Fast-forward thirty years: I've got a little boy now. And if there's one place he definitely loves, it's this place. Thomas & Friends is all the rage now, and Capreol has caught on to this. You can even buy these insanely priced toys in their shop at competitive prices. There's a quaint play area in the old fashioned waiting room, and just outside, a tour of the old coach cars, and an out-door miniature train set. This past year, though, they added a hidden gem under the fire hall: a vast, miniature train set, painted to exquisite detail. This set is every boy's dream: an entire world put on pause while the trains make their way around the copper loops of dreams. If your kid loves trains, this is an inexpensive day in the heart of quaint ol' Capreol.
  • Terror Train for October is the best fundraiser anyone could have thought of. Way better than the show at the big nickel. Those kids actually scared us ! Great job!
  • So much history without feeling overwhelmed with a lot of reading. Kids even had fun exploring and learning. They loved the school train.
  • This place is great! The rail cars and engines they have are restored very well. Love how you can walk around and go inside them to see how things were in the old days. Also my son loved the Thomas the train setup! The gift shop and house are pretty neat too. There is also a small zen garden which has all the plants labelled if you are into that sort of thing. I would recommend for anyone looking for something to do and has an interest in the history of our railways.
