It has three passages to the Atlantic Ocean and the water features a refreshing mixture of salt and freshwater. It measures a distance of 100 km (62 mi) in length and 50 km (31 mi) in width, while surrounded by a lush tree covered landscape and rolling hills. The lake attracts all types of wildlife, home to white-tailed deer, foxes, raccoons, osprey, and many bald eagles. Many camping spot exist around the lake making it an ideal spot for the family who wants to be outdoors and partake in some water sports.
