  • The Salmon Hatchery to the Quinsam River is well worth a visit!! We did have the luck that we came right on time to follow the whole process!! The Salmons come, via an ingenious system, the hatchery within! There they are numb from a tap with a bat??? Then the females unzipped and the calf is caught in a scale. The male salmon is above this scale, and the hom (semen) is pinched from the salmon, after which fertilization takes place already! The further route you can follow in the information center on the ground. The dead fish is, at a later date, given back to nature! It is some time swallowing but the salmon have little to suffering and....... die they do, when they finally appeased after thousands of kilometers have made to their spawning area!! A very special experience!!!!!,
