The Calgary Zoo reviews

My entire life I have enjoyed the zoo. It is well maintained and the staff are well informed. You can really tell they deeply care for the animals. more »
A good variety of animals. Animals are not far from each other, so you don't have to walk a long distance to see one animal. You can tell the animals and the zoo are taken good care of. There are quite a few staff and volunteers taking care of different animals when we went. All the animals were very clean too! It's a great zoo that people have put their heart to maintain. Highly recommend.
I went to the zoo on one of the coldest days this winter. The upside was that it was nearly empty (saw maybe a dozen other guests the entire time), so there was no issue in getting around and seeing the animals. But with it being winter not all of the animals were out (understandably), but I was disappointed that there were not exhibits for the animals to be viewed during the winter months, so I missed out on seeing more than I anticipated had I gone in the summer time. Still, a beautiful zoo with lots to see and well cared for animals.
If you’re visiting Calgary for the first time, the Calgary zoo is definitely a must go place. Not only kids have fun there, the whole family will have a great time at this park. You’ll see the most exotic animals from all around the world, and will get amazed to visit species such as Pandas, and of course the penguins. If you have a chance to visit in winter time you will see the beautiful “zoo lights” a kind of decoration at the zoo only available during winter season. Be prepared with your credit card to pay $10 for parking, and the earliest you get there the better, that way you’ll find a good parking spot closer to the main entrance.
Always enjoyed visits to the zoo as a kid when visiting Calgary. Have enjoyed a bunch of visits with some family as an adult as well. Most recently, I went to the zoo lights last year with my wife, and we loved it. We definitely plan on going again this year! Really fun. Great date night. Great for families.
I always have a great time viewing the live animals here. Granted, not all of them are around to pose pretty for pictures every time, but hey, that's life. The Calgary zoo has never disappointed as far as seeing presenting fascinating examples of some of nature's coolest creatures and beasts and I admit: there are times I want to take a few of them home with me. It's also a neat bonus seeing all the visiting families with kids getting a fascinating kick out of viewing the zoo residents too.
