Since the renovation, the Devonian Gardens look like part of a mall food court. Too many texting nannies letting their charges run wild. No longer a place for peace and contemplation
I love this garden all year long but it is my favorite spot when I need a quick Winter scape. Their green walls are stunning and the main one in the back is just gorgeous, the planters are full of tro... read more »

Wonderful place! It's a huge tropical garden on top of the shopping mall, but you neither see nor hear the mall. It's a fun place for children and adults, definitely one of the highlights of Calgary. I highly recommend it. And there is no better escape than this from bad weather, especially if you are hungry, because next to the tropical gardens there is a decent food court.
I love to eat here whenever I go downtown. The gardens are nice to walk through and explore. It's cool how they grow so many tropical plants there. If your in the area, I would suggest you go check it out
Devonian foodcourt would be a better description. Its basically just that, an extension of the food court now. The plants and surroundings are plasticky and sterile looking with no turles or big koi, waterfalls, sculptures, art, etc., all the good things that made it so special are gone. Anyone who remembers the original Devonian Gardens knows who beautiful it once was, very organic, with each quadrant having its own feel and look while still having common attributes. That's all gone now replaced an ugly open concept. Even the kids playground looks abrasive with its harsh, primary colours. After seeing the "reno's" when they were done, I never went back again.
Love being here for a quiet place to think or create. Loved the piano there but it has unfortunately been removed... My issue with it is the kids playground simply because the screams echo all the way to the other end of the gardens
A beautiful, peaceful treasure of Calgary in the upper floors of TD Square / CORE Shopping Centre. Great for a lunch break or to take a date for a stroll.
