Calgary Tower, Calgary

(3.7/5 based on 2,000+ reviews on the web)
Take in the epic sprawl of the city from the lofty vantage point of Calgary Tower, a 191 m (626 ft) spire with a viewing platform perched on top. Enjoy fine dining in the tower’s admittedly pricey revolving restaurant, or head straight for the observation deck to step on the glass floor and enjoy sweeping views of the city. Consider getting up to the top on a clear afternoon to witness a stunning sunset. • It was incredibly expensive for the admission to ride the elevator. It makes more sense to spend that amount of money on lunch or dinner at the Restaurant and have your elevator admission comped.  more »
  • It's expensive. Great view. Kids were not too impressed. It's extra cost to go to restaurant! I liked it  more »
  • Nice to have a time to have done it. However, the $18 to the reasonable price. For a view of downtown. Are so many high towers beside, that you also can catch the elevator up from that free.

  • A must if you are in Calgary. Great experience. Just as you enter there is a glass floor in one corner. You get a 360 degree view of the entire city of Calgary as you walk around the tower. It has a gift show and they have icecream too. They have an audio guide, but they don't tell you about it. Its free so ask for it when buying the tickets. The audio guide will explain major landmarks and buildings as well as sections of the city of Calgary, with history. It will guide you around the tower and show you a superimposed map. It takes a while though to do the whole audio tour.
  • It's a nice tower and has some great views, but it's one of those things that you see once and it's boring to go again. The upgrades they did recently really help to turn this into a more educational experience while still being fun for the kids. The restaurant is great, the food is good and the 360 degrees view is a huge bonus. If you're visiting Calgary, definitely come check it out.
  • This is my second favourite Tower (CN Tower first) you have a great view of the city, especially in a sunny day. I loved the cristal floor, but is not for everyone, definitely to visit if you're in Calgary.
  • This is one of the highlights of my Calgary trip and is a must-do for cityscape fanatics like me. I timed my visit on a sunny day and was not disappointed. I availed of the complimentary multimedia guide, which has neat details about the places of interest that can be viewed from the observatory. From the observatory, one can see the downtown core with its impressive skyscrapers and quaint neighborhoods, the two rivers that snake through the city, parts of the Winter Olympic Park, and even the mighty snow-capped peaks of the Rocky Mountains. The observatory closed at 9:00 pm when I visited. As it was still bright outside, I missed out on sunset and night photos, which would have made the whole viewing totally worth it.
  • super overpriced elevator ride, but super cool. If you haven't done this its a must
