  • Great place! Sparkling Pear Cider is amazing! Goodies and tasty treats abound! Pie and strudel is awesome.  more »
  • My daughter, her boyfriend and I recently visited this place over the Christmas Holidays. It is a very rustic looking place with a country type store and a bakery. It also has a great little bar/bistr...  more »
  • We had delicious frittata and salad along with a glass of cider. And, of course, we bought cider to take home. Very pleasant and a charming spot. There is a bakery, small restaurant with on tap cider ...  more »

  • Spirit Tree is not what it used to be, and service is terrible. Lately I have felt this more and more, and I was in there today to buy bread and didn't need attitude from the server... The bread was cooling on the rack and not in their bins yet. I wanted a seeded Rye loaf and the server proceeded to give me the multi grain, even though the rye was right next to it. When I questioned her, she said the multi loaf was the rye and that was what she was told. On the wall was a loaf of Multi grain, I pointed this out to her saying the loaf she was giving me was not the rye but the multi grain as what was on the wall, she kept insisting the loaf was the rye Not the multi grain(WOW, arguing with your client, instead of trying to verify). So I just said give me these loaves(the seeded rye) pointing them out, instead of having to continue arguing with her. At the cash I tried to explain that Rye flour is darker, hence the darker look of the actual rye bread, but again instead of admitting she was wrong, she answered with an excuse(our rye flour is light, again WOW) and some eye rolling. So I went online and took the time to look at reviews for Spirit Tree... your reviews for food and cider are good, but all the bad comments seem to do with service, March 7(ignoring the existence of anyone even if that person is staring them in the face and asking to be served), Feb 15(server was polite; a bit to reserved from what we normally receive when travelling in smaller cities towns), Aug 29(the service, on the other hand, deplorable), Oct 18(our server did not know how to smile.Yes she was fast but exhibited no warmth or personality), Oct 28(the staff not attentive or friendly). This whole episode bothered me so much that I stopped in on my way back from Toronto, and saw that the Multi grain loaf the server was trying to pass off as Rye was now in the bin marked Multi grain. She noticed me looking at her, but instead of arguing again, I have decided to tell as many people as possible(so far 6, and I am not finished) and to write this review. So I think you need to work on your customer service as word of mouth is everything.
  • Amazing location, and nice and affordable food. I recommend visiting on a warm day and sitting on the benches outside. Had some pastries and cider, and relaxed for a bit. Inside is nice too by the way. Very friendly staff as well. Would definitely visit again!
  • Rapid decline in the past few weeks...so I had to change my review.. - No scotch eggs - discontinued... - No cold draught cider - machines don't work, and they have expressed disinterest in fixing them. - Changed from glasses to cheap dollar store plastic for lunch outdoors. - fridges turned off for purchases of cider -counter works lacking smiles, service, attitude... Textbook on how to ruin a good outdoor lunch setup...! ____________________________________ Rapidly becoming my home away from home. Excellent draught cider...and Scotch eggs... (which should ready be available every day...they're excellent)
  • Come for the cider, maybe skip the food. The cider flights are delicious and fun to try. The food on the other hand, are way overpriced. I had the burger which was billed as local and organic, but it was charred beyond recognition so it could have cardboard for all I know.
  • Absolutely fantastic, great ciders, great food. Routinely spend far more than I should. The growlers are excellent value.
