Tolles Bergbau Museum. Der Eintritt lohnt sich. Schon der riesige Abraum LKW den man von der Straße aus sieht ist imposant. Aber alles ist hier sehr schön und interessant gemacht. Die Fahrt durch den ... more »Great mining museum. The entrance is worth. Already the huge dumping trucks you see from the street is impressive. But everything is very beautiful and interesting made. The trip through the tunnel and the dedicated guide were sharp. The mill is impressive. And at gold panning gold rush comes on for young and old mood.

Loved our visit to Britiannia Mine Museum ... our little ones were impressed with the hard hats, train into the tunnel and especially the guide - Able - he did a great job! Our only complaint was the ... more »

The tour inside the former Britannia Mine is like that. First we have possibility to understand how families lived and what they wore, what was at the time the mine turned off. After we have an old galpao with machines used at the time of the mine and a cell that the children were able to verify. They panned as the miners did before and were able to learn in practice. Soon after we did the tour of 1 hour or so into the mine. Explained what was done the process of opening the holes, use of gunpowder, different tools and evolution of them and at the end through the building where was the separation and flotation process of copper. Very entertaining and instructive.

The museum is best for children. You can search for gold and go on the tour. The tour is very short. You board the train and at the second stop you leave the train. The demo of the tools was great. I have never seen these tools live and in operation. It is a little bit to expensive for the short tour. But very good for children.

I have always wondered why it costs so much ($102 for a family of 4)... Now I understand why. The place has an absolutely fascinating history behind it, and our guide gave us an informative tour. Our two kids had a blast panning for tiny "gold" nuggets, and as a history nerd I enjoyed learning about the lives of people who worked there in the decades past. The underground tour on a mine train was very cool.

Short sweet tour of the Britannia copper mines! The tour is very educational and our guide was super nice. The whole complex is a hidden gem of learning and activities for the whole family and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. You can pan for gold for "FREE" in the complex. I have done this before here in the US and have typically paid around $20 to waste my time. This was a great experience and we collected quite a bit

Excellent experience! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. So interesting! We have a deeper appreciation of the miners and the work they did and sacrifices they made. Thank you so much!

I wanted to like Britannia Mine but for value for money it's just not worth your time or money. We paid $115 for our family after tax, the tour was mildly interesting but wasn't worth the cost of admission. We planned to eat at the cafe there after the tour as well but it was more of a gas station store with crappy selection. We ended up driving to Squamish for lunch instead. All in all if the cost of admission was half of what they charge it would be worth it... at the going rate I'd look elsewhere for your family fun.
