  • Tour guide was passionate and enthusiastic. I believe her name was Maggie. We went here on a whim, and were pleasantly surprised. The tour is engaging and interesting. You get to experience first-hand what it may have been like to be a miner in the 1800-1900s. I don't recommend bringing small children here because the cave could be scary for them. I also recommend bringing warm clothing because it is quite cold in the cave. Overall a fantastic place to visit.
  • This was such a great experience! I went as a field trip chaperone, and the kids had a blast! The history of the mine is fascinating, and the museum is full of great photo ops. It was definitely worth the trip!
  • Must-see! Guided tour (every hour but check ahead first) is very interesting & brings you into the mining tunnel! Great for families (not with toddlers or young kids, though)! Very educational and amazing!
  • Recommend checking this place out. It has been on my list to check out for sometime now, but didn't have the opportunity to until recently when our snowshoeing plans fell threw do to a bad wind storm! Our tour guide was incredible. An original minor who told us the stories of his experience coming to the mine and working there for 40 years! Wow!! He took us into the mine on a little mining train, showed us the daily operations and talked about there challenges. Then we went to some of the outbuildings that have been very well maintained. Wonderful tour, with so much history and information!!
  • I love to see and hear how things are made - this museum did a great job of it. Informative video, story boards, artifacts, etc. The actual tour in the mine and then to see the 20 storey gravity fed factory was quite cool. My 11 and 14 year olds also enjoy it. Well done!
