  • At last a provincial park that does not disappoint! We came as day visitors. Checked out the nature centre, the light house and info building close to there. So nice to learn about local wildlife and ...  more »
  • This is a beautiful park where we are returned with pleasure - ten years later. It is not very big and offers many spaces of camping (of all kinds and for all tastes). Its main advantage is that it seems to be a well-kept secret, and it is located on the shores of Lake Ontario. There are several short hiking trails. Unfortunately the beaches were closed during our visit in July (due to flooding - must do!) because of the last three months of rain. It is, from what we learned, a paradise for birdwatchers. Tip: a nice man takes a small counter of fortune at the entrance to the Park, where it sells its wood and its ice cheaper than at the Park store.

  • Always a beautiful time here. Lots of space to yourself at the sand beach and a real feel of escaping from the crowds. There is some beautiful hiking around the marsh and nice area around the lighthouse around a stone and fossil beach. Suggest to check two things ahead of time for day use and if important to you: if the beach area with flushing toilets is open (if closed, then only a latrine is available without driving to the nearest comfort station), and if there is detritus washing up to the shore (sometimes it is thick in certain areas). Also you have to drive to the comfort station for electrical service, the bathrooms on the beach don' t have it. But that may just be part of the remote feel of this place. Also check the park calendar -- there is always stuff going on like interpretive programs, guided walks, etc. etc.
  • We visited this lovely Provincial Park in Ontario in the fall of 2015. The park itself is very well kept and very scenic.. Bring a bicycle however to truly enjoy this large park.. Our only complaint about our visit was during our departure, the sewage dump was full and sewage was spilling over onto the ground, not very pleasant. But that didn't stop the long line of other campers leaving, from using it anyhow. This pulled our rating down slightly.
  • Super friendly staff despite coming in late at night. Wish we had more time to explore the park's offerings.
  • A very nice Lighthouse here. Excellent park layout, nice beaches lots of camp sites and walking trails. Large Marsh area and boardwalk.
  • Fantastic board walks to have you be one with nature. Walk through the woods and listen to the many sounds. Beautiful area.
