Brampton City Hall is home to Brampton City Council and the departments of the city. It is located at the intersection of Wellington Street and Main Street in downtown Brampton.HistoryA park on the site for many years was home to the Brampton Cenotaph, it was named Memorial Park. A downtown bus terminal on part of the site opened after 1976 and was closed at some point before 1989, to accommodate construction of the building. The three-storey building was designed by Robert Posliff and completed in the 1990s. The building features a bell tower and a curved entrance with columns. A two storey addition was also added.A nine storey tower opened in 2014 at 41 George Street as part of the Southwest Quadrant Renewal Plan and is connected to City Hall by a glass walkway called Heritage Way. It will house city staff, community rooms and retail space. Went to city hall to pay tax bill and get new dog licence and was greeted by friendly people, made my visit more relaxing and comfortable, good job main floor staff.
My whole visit was totally unknown to the employees who were working at the time I entered. I went in and out without being noticed. No greaters, no smiles, and no recognition. I guess the cameras are... read more »
A very well designed and maintained building that screams luxury. But of course it would, because it's built with tax payers money. Some departments are good at returning calls while some totally ignore you.
City hall was well maintained. Lots of spacious rooms of different sizes. Parking very conveniently located and at affordable price. Thumbs up.
We went in late right at 4:00pm and the ladies at the desk still helped us with our marriage license. They were giving me shit lol. And made us both laugh. Was a very pleasant and refreshing experience. :)
