  • Hidden gem on the flat Saskatchewan landscape. It took about 2 hours to drive there from White City. We spent approx 45 mins there. Not much in the closest town, Castle Butte is the highlight. You can...  more »
  • A wonderful place to spend some time. You can climb to the top and see for miles. I did this in August and would like to do it again when the leaves change color in fall. There are very few trees or l...  more »
  • This place was custom made for my five year old. Amazing views and lots of little hiding spots make this a young adventurer's dream.

  • Travelled here on the way to Grasslands National Park on Victoria long weekend. This is a Saskatchewan monument and is absolutely worth making the journey to. Castle Butte appears somewhat disappointing until you make it to the south side and begin scaling it. Only then will you realize the physical beauty and the incredible views from atop. If you pay attention you may find some prairie cacti. A small cave on the bottom south portion provides yet another small adventure in its cold and dark environment - bring a flashlight. Highly recommended, a must see.
  • At sixty metres tall Castle Butte is an impressive sight that truly needs to be seen in person to appreciate. A remnant of the last ice age, the butte and surrounding region have an interesting history. During the late 1800s and early 1900s Saskatchewan’s Big Muddy badlands were often a hideout for notorious bandits such as Sam Kelly, Dutch Henry and the Sundance Kid. I can’t wait to visit again and do a bit of daytime exploring. Climbing to the top of the butte gives rewards you with an impressive view of a beautiful vista. If just you're passing through Regina, consider making the trip south to experience the Big Muddy first hand.
  • Very cool place to visit, didn't realise Saskatchewan could look like a canyon
  • Worth the drive. Great geography with the occasional wildlife - bring your camera!
  • Awe inspiring landscape and the sky at night is da bomb
