Golf Course
The Lakes Golf Club at Ben Eoin offers dramatic elevation changes and spectacular views of the beautiful Bras d’Or Lakes. Conveniently located just 15 minutes west of Sydney on Route 4, The Lakes offers remarkable vistas combined with the latest technology in golf course construction.“The Lakes presents the golfer with eighteen distinct postcard views. Each hole has its own special look. Consequently, the golfer will play with an expectation of what lies ahead or around the next bend. This diversity is a product of both the design and the setting: rock outcrops, long mystical views, crashing streams, grassy meadows and charming golf holes all combine to make golf at The Lakes both exciting and rewarding,” explains course architect Graham Cooke.

  • An absolutely beautiful and challenging course. Liked it so much, returned the next day. A tad slow, but the views compensated for the times we had to wait.  more »
  • I had read several places about bad conditions at this course, but it was great when we were there in early August. I used just about every club in my bag. None of the holes repeated another. There we...  more »

  • A phenomenal golf course. Such a surprise. Even though we had foggy drizzle we were delighted. The varying contours and elevations, the tightly integrated holes, carpetlike fairways, and superb tee boxes. I won't miss this course on my next visit to Cape Breton. A really challenging and exciting course.
  • Ive played many courses with NS and Florida, and I must say that the Lakes is one of my favourite. The staff are friendly but most off all the course is well maintained and challenging enough to test your game. You are rewarded for great ball placement. I would recommend this course for anyone who is serious about golf and enjoys a well build course. Last thing to note, the views are among the best. See for your self.
  • Great golf course, terrible hiring on their pro and jr coordinator
