  • A few kilometers past the Icefield Centre is the Parker Ridge Trail. This is quite a steep climb of more than an hour. Advantage: you will not be whole hordes overrun as in the Icefield Centre, the view is fabulous and the rest is overwhelming. Downside is that you're not on the Saskatchewan Glacier can walk but the sight of on Parker Ridge makes this more than good. Mount Athabasca and Saskatchewan Glacier are fantastic beautiful. And if you're lucky you'll hear true silence. The accessibility is very good, on the Icefield Parkway you have a fairly large car park and the path is very well signposted. If you are not afraid for a little physical effort and wants to give any money to a crowded bus to two minutes on a glacier, then Parker Ridge Trail a very good alternative!

  • Strong hikers can get to the top in roughly 45 minutes. Possibly the fastest ridge top in the Canadian Rockies. The view of Saskatchewan Glacier is definitely worth it!
