Hiking enthusiasts will enjoy Parker Ridge Trail, a picturesque uphill trek in Banff National Park. The trailhead lies near a scenic parkway for easy access. Starting steep, the moderately easy 2.7 km (1.7 mi) hike will take you to a spectacular viewpoint near the ridge summit. From the end of the trail, you can observe the Saskatchewan glacier and the snowcapped Mount Athabasca, or explore the surrounding area further.   • We went on this hike in early June and the trail was still covered in snow until we were above tree line. However, we still managed to hike it wearing standard hiking boots. It took us just over an ho...  more »

  • We traveled this parkway from Banff/Lake Louise all the way to Jasper stopping along the way to take pictures, experience the vista view points and walk up to the Columbia Glacier. Words cannot expres...  more »

  • Strong hikers can get to the top in roughly 45 minutes. Possibly the fastest ridge top in the Canadian Rockies. The view of Saskatchewan Glacier is definitely worth it!
