Bow Falls, Banff
(4.4/5 based on 2,400+ reviews on the web)
Witness a raging torrent of white water at Bow Falls. Listen to the hypnotic roar as the water tumbles down the dramatic cascade. Though not particularly high, the falls are wide, and the power on display is undeniable. If you can handle some stairs, the trail continues beyond the falls and is worth exploring for a peaceful stroll where you might spot some wildlife. Nicely accessible from a nearby carpark, the falls offer something for everyone to enjoy. • Bring you water shoes so you can wade in the shallows on a hot day. The mood on the waterfront is festive and relaxed.

  • It's a great spot to take pictures or to just sit and relax with a coffee! This time of the year it's nice and quiet.

  • Surprisingly powerful and impressive falls. I don't know that I would go much out of my way to see them, but they were definitely worth a short detour when I was in Banff already.
  • Nice and convenient to see for the entire family. Its a small fall, but strong currents.
  • We were so impressed coming from the prairies of Saskatchewan, what a beautiful Spot, I wished we'd had more than one afternoon in Banff, so much to discover!!!!
  • The trail can be quite icy in the winter! Well worth the time to hike both sides of the river; paved trails, nice views, and very little elevation gain. A relaxing stroll.
  • amazing view from the sidewalk paths, almost wanted to go tubing down the river :P
