Inspirock Rating:
4.1/5 based on 440+ reviews on the web
Ski way up on the Continental Divide at Sunshine Village, a ski and snowboard resort. With a feeling of wilderness and wildness (though just a 15-minute drive from town), the resort offers runs and routes for visitors of all ages and abilities. Thanks to 9 m (30 ft) of natural snowfall per season and an altitude of 2,195 m (7,200 ft), the powder here stays dry throughout. A large terrain park boasts a range of exciting obstacles, jumps, and bumps for the daring. Plan to see Sunshine Village and other attractions that appeal to you using our Banff family vacation planner.

  • Unmissable attraction even for those who don't like skiing, or the age gets in the way a little. You go up the first gondola (38.85 CAD) and comes to a Village with all the ski runs. It's worth the climb in at least one of them to the top.

  • We didn't book a tour, instead drove to the hill and bought a gondola and chair lift ticket. We had packed a lunch - but their pub style restaurant was open and smelled wonderful. We were so glad we b...  read more »
  • This was our first ski trip on a "mountain" (being from North Dakota), and what a fantastic start! It was easy to get set up, easy to access with the shuttle from the parking areas, and plenty of rout...  read more »
  • Purchased tickets to ride the gondola up mid-summer. Almost like heli-hiking, but with a much smaller price tag! We hiked to Citadel Pass and back (21 km), but there are several other shorter hiking options available. Last half of July is great for wildflowers and September/early October for golden larch season.
  • Everything you need. If I had enough money I could live here all winter. Beautiful location, nice rooms, good food, lots to do, great amenities, and friendly, interesting staff.
  • Great family skiing in the winter lots of varied terrain. Steeps are a hike in and out of, and you'll need avy gear to get through the gates. Just opened for summer hiking with terrific views around a 6km loop.
  • One of the best ski resorts in Alberta. her terrain for all abilities both expert to beginner. Lodges are all very nice specially like the little Starbucks in the hotel lobby.
  • It was my first time skiing in 10 years! Forgot how much of a workout skiing was. The views from the top of hills were immaculate! There are lots of runs for every skill level - and the hills for every skill level are appropriately mapped! I will definitely be going back to sunshine village!
