  • We stayed in the Friends Camprground which is right next to the lake and the sandy beaches. The sites are open and don't provide much privacy but have electric hookup. Sandspit Campground is more shad...  more »
  • My girlfriend and I have spend a night in this campground. We were only passing through. Nice place, quiet, good location (adjacent to Okanagan Lake), clean showers and excellent service on the part of the employee in place.

  • One of the better Provincial Campgrounds we have been too. Most of the sites are very private and quiet. The beach is fantastic, large enough that there is never a crowded feel to it. Washrooms and showers are very clean. The only fault I can find with this campground is there are not enough full-serviced sites and they are not very private. If you can get by without hookups stay in the Sandspit section. Also, and this goes for any Provincial site, you have to be on the ball when reserving. People/Groups are taking advantage of the reservation system by buying and then reselling the site tickets. Solution idea for the issue: make the registration include your drivers licence number, plate number of vehicle and/or trailer. If the information does not match when you arrive then you lose the site and it becomes a first come first served for the next client.
  • There's a cool 2km hike around Gibson pond near Kokanee peak, there is a 16km drive up a trail off of 3A that can be a bit of a struggle but it is doable. Worth the drive up
  • Lots of sites but it books up quickly! More tent/tent-trailer oriented than I expected. Not all buses & big 5th wheels. 👍
  • Great location by the lake and the creek where the salmon come to spawn late August to Sept. We were at the group site where there are no book ups for rvs but the main camp ground has a dump/fill station. It also has free showers. There is lots to do and explore in this area with beautiful scenery and nature.
  • The place for family. Beautiful campsites in forested settings. See the salmon run in their natural setting.
