Designated as a Bi-Centennial International Peace Garden. Along the pathway are many manicured annual flower beds, a ships anchor, cannons, and a light house beacon. It has been acknowledged as part of the great Sauk Trail which ran from Illinois to Detroit. Once a shipyard for the Provincial Marine, today you can take a stroll along the water, watch the ocean and lake freighters pass by or snap a photo of the colourful Rhododendron’s and lovely gardens.Using our custom trip planner, Amherstburg attractions like Amherstburg Navy Yard National Historic Site can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

Lovely view of river and islands. The gardening is beautiful and well kept and is smoke free. Great place to sit back and relax on a nice day. more »

Absolutely beautiful park right by the Detroit River. Lovely gardens and historic points of interest. But simply a beautiful place by the river. more »
This was a beautifully well kept park. I especially enjoyed the area where there were multiple hostas labeled in a small garden. If you are a landscaper or horticulturist like myself, you would appreciate this teaching garden. 🧢👍
Spent the afternoon in the Downtown area of Amherstburg. Quite beautiful along the Riverwalk. A very well kept park with lots of interesting things to see along the way. This area is right beside the Old part of the Town. Yes, there's plenty of restaurants and pubs in the area.☺👍👍👍
Beautiful, picturesque, quaint and serene. Not crowded usually but depends on the day and time. Lots of restaurants accessible from it. Seating places under shade are limited though, which is a bit of a drawback if someone wants to sit in shade! But, definitely worth a visit and repeat visits
Beautiful historic park. All so friendly to talk too while on a stroll. Well done.
