  • The park newspaper suggested this hike would take about 1 hour. We are not the quickest hikers. We're in our early 50's and my wife has arthritis, but we move at a decent pace. Maybe about average....  more

  • The trail is short but intense. It took us about an hour to complete. We travelled with our 9-year-old and 2-year-old in a baby carrier. The view is worth the climb.

  • We had a tour guide from Bartlett Lodge take us up and tell us wonderful information along the way. A spectacular view with a good hike up!

  • This 2.1k trail is such a good hike! It’s short and sweet! As the name states, there is definitely a wonderful lookout worth the hike. Throughout the hike, you climb up about 75 meters in elevation to a gorgeous site. There is plenty to learn along the way so grab one of those informative booklets. Add this to the list of hikes to do because you won’t regret it.
  • Excellent place to stop by when driving through Algonquin provincial park. A short hike to reach the top. Its around 2km trail and it is fairly easy and it takes about 40-50 mins to reach the top. The incline on the way can make it difficult but it’s manageable. You can bring food/snack and enjoy it once you reach the top while enjoying the beautiful and scenic views of Algonquin like we did :). Hike is totally worth. Once you reach the top you get to see the Beautiful and Spectacular views with the vibrant fall colours! During fall season it gets pretty crowded though! Lots of nice and colourful spots to click the photos on the way. Photos on the way and at scenic lookout point. Highly recommend.
  • We do this trail every year, very easy gravel trail good for all ages as long as you can walk an incline. You only need about 30-40 minutes to complete this trail. You can get away with normal flat bottomed casual shoes, strollers etc. This is a high traffic area where people will park illegally along the shoulder of the highway. If the parking lot is full (especially so on weekends during fall colours season) you can park at the big pines trail entrance and walk over. Has a beautiful lookout but difficult to get unobstructed photos as again very crowded. One year we did see a couple get married at the peak. It’s nice for a quick novice trail with a breathtaking view!
  • It has a really nice look out point. Trail is little bit hard as you have to climb through cliff but must visit trail.
  • I try to get here at least once a year. I've been here many times. The best time is always in the fall, but it's beautiful anytime of year. If you want a little more solitude I recommend going anytime except for September and October. LOL. Because it is busy. It's a moderately challenging hike of less than a 2 km loop and when you get to the top and look at that view I dare you to not to feel that it was worth it. I feel awe every time I come here.
