  • This was great - and totally unexpected. As we had been staying in the National Park the entrance was free of charge. We arrived in time for the 14 min video which set the scene for the hard lives...

  • Exceptionall well done trail and artifacts depicting the history of logging in Algonquin Park. This was our 3rd visit over the years and will probably return!

  • Did not expect this to be so good. Stopped in on a trip to Muskoka. Takes about an hour to do. Great intro film and walk through the country. Brilliant lay out and really informative. Would...

  • A must visit if you visiting Algonquin park for the first time. The show is wonderful when open. It was all closed currently due to the covid restrictions. A easy hike for all levels. We have seen this place in every season and always a different experience. Lots of bird spotting.
  • Very interesting self-directed tour, which makes real, the way life was for the first loggers, and how things changed as machinery came into use. Truly amazing to see what humans and horses were able to accomplish. Still a bit sad that so many of the old trees are still being logged, as well as a fairly large area of the park. However, at least the forestry industry is forced to look at their practices from a more ecological perspective.
  • Your journey starts with a 14 minute video to give you an overview of the walking tour that you are about to embark on. The exhibits are really well constructed. True to the periods that they are trying to reflect. Some nice history, and the process of forest management is very simply and clearly explained along the way. Great family outing.
  • Enjoyed walking through the beautiful and scenic trail. The store has great collection of souvenirs, cards and books. They show informative film on the history of logging in Algonquin.
  • This self guided easy walking trail of the history of logging in Algonquin is a must visit while in the area. The preserved cabins, equipment and other historical items with the accompanying explanation signage at each station are very informative.
