  • Went skating here and would definitely recommend that again. Neff to earmark that time I fall when the weather is cold enough but no snow. Need to persevere on the drive as it is quite far down the road. Next time i would try and head further along the lake as the ice was pretty bumpy near the Canmore end. From other pics i think it looked better down the way.
  • My favorite place to spend the weekend. Relatively short drive from Calgary, stunning views, wildlife, good hikes, everything you can ask for!
  • Great Ice fishing from the sparrowhawk day use area
  • Beautiful place. Love taking my family here to camp.
  • It's a really beautiful place!

Where to stay in Canmore

Resorts and mountain lodges represent the majority of places to stay in Canmore. Most lie just off the Trans-Canada Highway, allowing for convenient access to the surrounding area's natural attractions. Look deeper in town--towards the Bow River--to enjoy the most scenic sightseeing Canmore has to offer, straight from your hotel window. Remember to reserve in advance between June and September, as the town attracts most of its visitors during the warmer months.
