Ta Som, Siem Reap
(4.5/5 based on 380+ reviews on the web)
Visit Ta Som, a small 12th century-temple in the ancient city of Angkor. Nestled in a wooded area, the temple dates back to the rule of the Khmer king Jayavarman VII. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the temple, surrounded by a shady grove, and admire its stone ruins, adorned with intricate carvings and figurines. Nature has blended with the man-made structures of this ancient site, with one of the gopuram, or entrance walls, completely overgrown by a sacred fig tree, making for a great photo opportunity. • One of the most photographed spots in Angkor is one of the entrances to the temple, shrouded from the roots of a huge tree. Apart from that the site is quite small and, in my opinion, nothing outstanding.

  • Literally temple for uncle. Which is a smaller version of preah khan. There is a nice spot at the back of the temple where you can have a group or solo pic. Its on the right side, where the stones have fallen apart. You can also find the two trees in one. A normal tree and a trunk tree (or parasite tree) that starts from the top and grows its roots to the ground eating up the trees where its seed started to grow.
  • Beautiful enveloped by jungle temple!
  • This temple is kinda big, hopefully it will not collapse any soon coz i see lots of cracks and at some parts the root consuming the walls
  • One of the more popular temples. It's partially overgrown with trees in a beautiful kind of way.
  • Another great temple in the Angkor area. This one has lots of incredible ancient trees.
