  • Before going to the only know this is Siem Reap biggest bazaar, did not think it really so big! People are more likely to sell raw food, which is the most authentic (/old) market in life, and will be a bit of a no-no for the local sea and meat. The dry parts are also large, but more often. The average person should be able to stroll for 1 hours, and I wandered for nearly 2 hours.

  • This is an authentic local market. Not for tourists but great for photographers and adventurous travelers who like to be submerged into culture. You will see meat dripping blood, pig heads and feet on display for example so refrain from going unless those are things getting you excited. You will also witness fish being cleaned up right on the ground and some less fortunate elderly will beg you for money. There is a lot of gold being sold as well, piles of shoes, kitchen ware and fruit merchants all over. English is not as spoken here as it is off the beaten path but I loved it.
  • A Real Local Market If you want to see an authentic market this is the place to see. Its enormous so allow plenty of time to browse. Try the fried dough from the stalls near the back. Fresh cooked and tasty. The bread smells amazing.
  • One word: authentic. This is where the locals actually shop. Leave your Western sensibilities at your hotel, and take in the sights and sounds of the market. I went with the Siem Reap Food Tour - if you want the guided version, that's the way to do it. If you're happy just to go in and have a go at buying and eating whatever catches your eye, hop in, but don't expect anyone to speak a word of English.
  • it's local market. busy in the morning but great to come here if you want to taste local food. Be in the morning as it is more happening and stall open at the side of the street. During the afternoon, most of the stall will closed and left only the shop in the building.
  • Best local market to visit on your own. Lots of snacks and cakes to try. Gold, tailor shops, plastic toys, electronic devices, tools, pots and pans, etc. Opened 5 to 5.
