Eastern Mebon, Siem Reap

4.4
One of the best-preserved temples in the Angkor city and part of a World Heritage Site, Eastern Mebon attracts visitors with its well-preserved elephant statues and five cone-shaped pillars. Climb the four stairways guarded by the picturesque elephants and admire the stone carvings of verses from Hindu mythology and historical scripts. While the whole complex honors Shiva and the parents of the king Rajendravarman II, the small altars inside the pillars are dedicated to other Hindu deities. Along with the exquisite examples of architecture, the temple stands out for its use of red brick made from iron-rich clay. • On each corner there are elephants out of of stone. Again a wow temple. For visit take the big tour.  more »
  • An imposing Temple Mount, which once stood in the middle of the 2nd largest reservoir of Angkor. Less visited. The guardian figures (elephant) at the corners are very beautiful.

  • As the 4th tour here. It features here is an elephant. Elephant in the corner so 観to want to go. And can also climb up steep stairs in mind! Stair railing is only one when you get down there, so recommend so that vendors wanted, I just got a little messy but here recommend you want!

  • One of the more interesting temples that you can go to on your temple visits in Siem Reap. It's part of the big circuit which clumps the nearby temples together. Note that there is little shade on this site so bring a hat!
  • Nice temple. It is less crowded. It has nice statutes of elephants at the corners.
  • One of the best temple that you should visite especially before sunset with golden color
  • Nice Hindu temple that makes a good contrast to the Buddhist temples on the great circle. Worth the stop for the nice sleep statues at the corners alone
  • Beautiful place, amazing structure and history a can't be missed place to visit and ver important to know the history of place prior going because only way you can feel the energy and impact of being there.
