Tonle Sap Lake, Siem Reap Province

1.9
#3 of 14 in Parks in Siem Reap Province
Discover the vast seasonally inundated Tonle Sap Lake, which remains one of country's most important sources of food. Situated in the Cambodian floodplain--a geological depression--the lake gets replenished by the Mekong River and shelters an abundance of natural and agricultural habitats. Rent a boat ride to travel across the lake and experience the beauty of floating villages and natural havens. Many tour operators try to exploit tourists by "demanding money to feed the hungry," but you can easily avoid this by purchasing food yourself and donating it to the poor directly. Make Tonle Sap Lake a centerpiece of your Siem Reap vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Siem Reap online trip builder .

  • There is a boat service name call Boat Association. Think twice when you select boat most of the time guide or the driver is fully drunk you will be Lossing money and tour freedom as well as your life. If you go with a group its ok but do not travel as a couple's or along in single boat.
