Wat Ounalom, Phnom Penh
Categories: Sacred & Religious Sites, Tourist Spots
A landmark in the history of Cambodian Buddhism and the country’s current headquarters of the religion, Wat Ounalom stands as one of the oldest of the five pagodas in the country. Unearth the rich history of the estate, established in 1443, consisting of 44 buildings, and originally built to enshrine an eyebrow hair of Lord Buddha. Wind your way around the main temple, learning the teachings of the Buddhist philosophy, finding out about its previous inhabitants of 500 monks, and understanding the horrific desecration of the temple during the Cambodian genocide. Find the eyebrow hair remarkably still preserved in a small shrine behind the main temple. I like to visit the pagoda when i come to any country. And this pagoda did not disappoint me. You can know more about the Cambodia culture and architecture when you visit here.
Etrafındaki sokaklarda dolaştım, Keşişletin yaşadığı yerlerde... Çok pisti. Temizlik imandandır abiler, haberiniz yok.I wandered the streets around, Keşişletin lived in ... Very filthy. Clean-up is because it implies man, you don't know.show original
Went inside and found it interesting with so many statues of Buddhas and Buddhist Monks. Just a short walk from my hotel along the water front.
The well known Buddhist Monastery in Phnom Penh.
People from the pagoda stole my boots, be careful
