Kep National Park, Kep

4.2
#1 of 7 in Parks in Kep
Get in touch with nature and examine exotic plants and wildlife at Kep National Park. Established in 1993, the park spreads across 50 sq km (19 sq mi) of hilly landscape, with some 8 km (5 mi) of walking trails within the small mountain range. On your hike, enjoy the view of Phu Quoc and the Bokor Ranges on the southern and western side, while to the east lie a marine reserve and its picturesque islands. Due to the lack of amenities along the way, bring your own food and drink, and ensure you make it back before dark. Before heading on your trek, fuel up at the onsite cafe with an affordable meal. • If you go around 8km walk, you will see 2 or 3 squirrels, some lizards, and 4-5 monkeys. Otherwise, some nice points of view but nothing extraordinary. Not frankly madness, but the problem is if you go to kep and you won't walk in this park, you go in circles. So to do, but not expecting anything, at least you will not be disappointed. For sports, I made the round trip from Kampot by bike, 50km in all on a road certainly bandwidth but flat. Don't forget the cans of water, sunscreen and hat, it's kicking!

  • Certainly, we arrived not by the main entrance, but really, our journey was not terrible. No views except the rock sunset, a stifling, mosquitoes galore, sweatiness of dozens of paths that go around without indication, very little markup or benchmarks... in short we toured round. But maybe that experience is better if we start with the main entrance...

  • Do everyone a favor and don’t ride your scooter on the trail. It ruins the peace and quiet for everyone else and scares away the wildlife. Also, it is lazy. You came to a national park to hike. The main trail is nice and wide and an easy stroll. The side trails are not well maintained. He views are great and it is very pleasant for a morning or an evening stroll. In the middle of the day it is pretty hot. It costs $1 to enter if someone is at the gate when you arrive.
  • Really nothing special. Trails offers a few good views but trees is what you will see most of. Didn't see any animals at all. Maybe the many scooters riding the trail scared them off
  • Great place to explore the mountain and tree especially the view from the peak to the sea and town view.
  • If you decide to do trail do yourself and everybody else a favour and leave the motorbike outside. Its really not possibleto enjoy the place with an engine sound running.
  • First 5km nice and peaceful when you are in the he park. Then the loop turns onto a road, the last 3km you are just walkibg on a road...Disappointing
