Kep Beach, Kep

#3 of 7 in Parks in Kep
Beach Nature / Park
Walk along the clear shallow waters and white sands of Kep Beach, a small beach only 1 km (0.6 mi) long surrounded by green forest. Local fruit and seafood markets line the shore, and remain infamous in this area-- Kep is well known for its crab markets-- so don't miss the chance to try Kep's blue crab. After relaxing on the beach, head to the various monuments found in the local vicinity. Despite the popularity of the beach with locals-- especially at the weekends-- take care when swimming here as many do not recommend it due to the impurities in the water which can make you sick. Try to avoid national holidays due to heavy crowds. Rentable chairs, ATM machines, and shower/hygiene facilities can all be found nearby. Kep Beach is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our international travel planner, Kep Edition.

Where to stay in Kep

Kep has a set of accommodations to suit a range of budgets and styles. The area around the crab market has the greatest choice of options, with aged villas turned into guesthouses both luxury and standard, and resorts of bungalows and stand-alone villas. Some of the more budget-friendly resorts have bungalows with shared bathrooms and limited amenities, while the more luxurious resorts center on old French colonial villas and pack in extras, such as restaurants, pools, and spas. Follow the coastal road down to Kep Beach for the same accommodation types, but with fewer choices.

  • Ok there is a sand beach which is man made using river sand but the appeal during the day is that it is clean because a lot of people help make it clean by collecting the massive piles of rubbish left...  more »
  • Small beach; I've been there when it was crowded and empty. Sand is not white or fine, a little on the grainy side. No major fly of mosquito attacks. The water is not clear, but not too murky either. ...  more »
  • Basically its just a small dirty beach. We stay a night here but just spend few minutes at the beach just to take photo. No point to purposely visit the beach unless pass by to vietnam or kampot.  more »
