Kep Beach, Kep

2.9
#2 of 9 in Outdoors in Kep
Walk along the clear shallow waters and white sands of Kep Beach, a small beach only 1 km (0.6 mi) long surrounded by green forest. Local fruit and seafood markets line the shore, and remain infamous in this area-- Kep is well known for its crab markets-- so don't miss the chance to try Kep's blue crab. After relaxing on the beach, head to the various monuments found in the local vicinity. Despite the popularity of the beach with locals-- especially at the weekends-- take care when swimming here as many do not recommend it due to the impurities in the water which can make you sick. Try to avoid national holidays due to heavy crowds. Rentable chairs, ATM machines, and shower/hygiene facilities can all be found nearby. • A small sandy beach right next to the road. Clean here. No shadow, no dressing rooms.

  • Everyone talks you KEP, from its lovely beach. This one is tiny, not very clean, but it must be said that it is the image of Cambodia. The water is warm but not crystalline.

  • A beach is easy and somehow not really something special. You can swim if you will, has to my knowledge no dressing rooms or the like (towel so it does also). Some tourists are there but not too bad.

  • Really nice little beach. Quiet and relaxing. Clean and fresh air and water. Really nice party if the country. I hope to return again soon 👍
  • Nice Place, could be cleaner in some areas. Why there are no monkey safe dustbins? Why can't the locals dispose their leftover properly?
  • Beautiful Beach, Looks Like The French Riviera. Very few people around here, tourism is low except on the weekend than you get crowds from Phnom Penh. You can rent mats, umbrellas and get food all around. The water of the ocean is warm and reasonable clean. At stormy days the ocean can turn into a while Beast, be aware for the danger. Beautiful sunsets...here you can dream about living the dream.
  • Kep is a small sea-side resort that offers a variety of beach activities. Snorkelers can enjoy viewing the corals on the bottom of the shallow sea. Rabbit Island is a popular beach near Kep; conditions are rustic, however, with electricity being provided only a few hours in the evening. Most people visit the island on day trips. Kep was founded as a colonial retreat for the French elite in 1908 and the town is still full of ruined shells of old villas, destroyed in the Khmer Rouge days. Visitors can also take in panoramic ocean views at Kep National Park, visit a butterfly preserve or see how peppers are grown organically
  • Spent a good few hours on this beautiful beach. Food is available, although pretty average but there are plenty of hammocks to relax in! Plenty of locals hang out here! Nice and clean today
